1,400 years of Islamic culture — and the best street food in Xi'an
Xi'an's Muslim Quarter is a 1,400-year-old neighborhood that evolved along the eastern end of the Silk Road where Arab and Central Asian traders settled. Today it's a dense labyrinth of narrow lanes filled with street food stalls, spice shops, mosques, and the extraordinary Great Mosque of Xi'an — one of the most beautiful Islamic buildings in East Asia. The Quarter comes alive at dusk when food stalls light up and the crowds arrive.
